Cranberry Equipment
Boom Spreaders
Since 1984 we have been building the lightest Cran-boom in the industry.
Our close working relationship with growers and staffs work to allow our growers the creative design opportunities they require to fit each application. We turn your custom design into reality.
The combination of a large CFM fans driven by a power unit sized for your application make application rates of one hundred pounds per acre possible. Exclusive stainless steel outlets creates the best random pattern of application in the Cranberry industry. Maintaining application rates with consistent spread patterns allow our booms to hit target rates time and time again.
Our goal has always been to create a lightweight cost effective platform, from which we can build upon for application of either wet or dry. Our wet system utilizes Raven-metering components sized to fit within your overall boom design. Our dry system utilizes Valmar metering components sized to fit within your overall design.
Your choice of either Kubota or John Deere engine creates reliable dependable power source.
Use of aluminum within our booms design takes advantage of the benefits and natural characteristics of aluminum for this unique long reach design. Then by Powder Coating the aluminum booms we increased the corrosion resistance of the boom adding to the life expectancy.
Exclusive to Spooner Machine, Inc. is an abrasive resistant PVC pipe we have custom extruded for our application. During the extrusion process we have wear resistant qualities incorporated within the PVC to deliver a superior product for longer life.
Our hydraulic ground drive has an efficiency rating of .985 so you get consistent application rates. Controlling imputes results in better crop production. Custom manufactured axles are used on all of our trailers. This gives us a strong base to work from and the strength needed to create long life.
Training and assembly done at your site creates complete understanding of the capabilities and functions of your new boom spreader. When training is complete we continue technical support as needed.
The Berry pumps pictured here comes with stainless steel wash unit. Kubota engine powers a jackshaft with an electric clutch to control our power source to the Cornel pump. Four leveling points makes leveling the trailer simple and easy. Two-inch primer pump fills the Cornel pump and all hoses making priming quick. Convenient remote operation from the cleaning platform allows operator complete control during cleaning operation. Manual lift of up to seven feet is accomplished using high low jacks. Minimum water is stored at the top for washing increasing safety. Our wash box increases water flow rates as well as spread the berries prior to entering the wash station for better cleaning results. Berry box is constructed from aluminum for convenient lightweight handling. Intake pumping rates of 250 barrels an hour when set up in good corral of berries with cleaning rates of 98% being typical.
Pictured here is our long reach arm attachment having the benefit of reducing setup time from bed to bed. It comes as a complete unit able to move our long reach arm using a single hydraulic lifting point. This reduces all manual tear down of hoses and repositioning berry pump box manually.
